Cornbread

Make 8–10 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • ¼ cup vegetable shortening, melted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 egg, beaten

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients and put in a greased pan.
  2. Bake in a preheated 400 °F oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or until a tester comes out clean.
